The City of Prince Albert’s Budget Committee has done a line-by-line review of the General Fund, and has come up with a $2.6-million reduction from the original increase originally proposed by Administration last fall. Mayor Greg Dionne says the proposed budget included a $4.467-million increase in spending, but now it’s a $1.807-million increase. The budget still needs approval by City Council, and then Dionne explains the next step will be a decision regarding a tax plan, which will finalize how the tax rate will impact different properties.
The review is expected in March.

There are no cuts to existing service levels and there will still be some major investments in infrastructure.
Dionne lists $146,000 for Phase 1 Developments at Little Red River Park to expand parking and $280,000 for the Rotary Adventure Park at Little Red.
