Meadow Lake RCMP have arrested three people and issued warrants for two others in connection with violent incidents that occurred last weekend.

Police received a report last Friday evening at approximately 8:15pm of an unknown man banging on the door of a home on Sixth Avenue East. The man was yelling that someone was going to shoot him and then a vehicle pulled up. A man got out of the vehicle and forced the unknown man inside and then drove away.

RCMP received a report 10 minutes later of an injured woman looking for help at a residence on Second Street East. A news release indicates the woman had serious injuries, including three fingers cut off on one of her hands.

About five minutes later at approximately 8:30pm, RCMP received another report of a woman seeking assistance at a home on the Flying Dust First Nation, just outside of Meadow Lake. She had two fingers cut off one of her hands.  Both women were taken to hospital.

RCMP located a vehicle on the Flying Dust First Nation that they believe was used in the abduction of the man on Sixth Street. Three people were arrested with RCMP saying the three incidents are related and involve local gangs.

Five people—two women and three men—have been jointly charged with:

-kidnapping while using a prohibited firearm

-aggravated assault

-uttering threats

-using a firearm in the commission of an offense

-possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

The three people in custody made their first court appearance on Tuesday. They are 30 year old Jerrico Lasas from the Waterhen First Nation, 26 year old Ronald Campbell from Buffalo Narrows and 26 year old Kayla Lasas from the Waterhen First Nation. All three made their first court appearance on Monday.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 28 year old Brian Maurice of the Flying Dust First Nation and 24 year old Chantal Roy from Meadow Lake.

Maurice is five foot eight and weighs 141 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and may be on the Flying Dust First Nation. Roy is five foot four and weighs 130 pounds. She has a butterfly tattoo on her right wrist and a mother holding a child tattoo on her left arm.  RCMP indicate she may be in Meadow Lake.
