Just before 7:30 Saturday night, the Saskatoon Fire Department received a call about a structure on fire in the 600 block of Avenue H South.

Once crews arrived, they found the rear exterior of a house engulfed in flames. After a search of the home, it was determined the property was vacant.

An overhead power line was affected by the fire. It was arching as it made its way through tree branches to the ground. The natural gas line was also damaged in the blaze.

Both SaskEnergy and SaskPower were notified and responded to the scene.

Saskatoon Police say the fire is suspicious. Damage from the fire was minimal due to the fast attack by fire crews.

A cause and daamge estimate will provided at a later time.
