The search for a missing Saskatchewan father and daughter has come to a peaceful end. Seven year-old Sarah Jackson and her 52 year-old father were found, parked in a vehicle located in a Vernon, B.C. parking lot around noon on Thursday.
Sergeant Major Darryl Milo with the RCMP says Michael Gordon Jackson was arrested without incident. He remains in custody and will be returned to Saskatchewan for court proceedings. “Sarah Jackson was safe and she will be reunited with her mother later today (thurs). Mariecar has been waiting for this day and phone call from our investigators since last year. She would like to thank everyone who played a role in helping locate her daughter.”
It’s alleged Jackson didn’t want his daughter vaccinated against COVID-19 while Sarah’s mother, Mariecar Jackson did. Sarah and her father had been missing since November.
Mariecar and the RCMP released a video last week calling for her daughter’s safe return. The initial video released last week of Mariecar calling for her daughter’s safe return reached over 440 thousand people and was shared over 13 thousand times.
Police say the second video released today (thurs) was shared 177 times and reached over 4,500 people in the first hour it was posted. At this time, no additional people have been arrested or charged in connection to the incident.
