Saskatchewan’s NDP Leader has reached out to the Premier, asking the Sask Party government to join with the Official Opposition in calling on the federal government to expedite the settlement process for those fleeing violence in Ukraine, and to provide expanded resources and support to settlement agencies supporting newcomers in the province. Ryan Meili says Saskatchewan has a long history with Ukraine. “Our province was settled by many Ukrainians, and we are proud that many Ukrainian-Canadians still call our province home.” He suggests this leaves the province uniquely positioned to welcome those impacted by this crisis to Saskatchewan.
