While people go to cast their ballots today [mon] for the federal election, the FSIN is hoping to see a high turnout of First Nations people. Chief Bobby Cameron says their voices need to be heard. Cameron says there are several issues First Nations people are concerned about during this election. He says, across the country, First Nations need serious housing investment. He also wants to see recently passed child welfare legislation implemented quickly by whichever party forms government. The 2015 election saw historic numbers for voting on reserve. 61-point-five percent of eligible voters on reserve cast their ballot, the most since 2004.
