The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is introducing this year’s Champion Child.
Thirteen year old Carson Garneau will serve as the face for sick and injured children in Saskatchewan, bringing awareness to his condition, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
EDS is a genetic tissue disorder which causes extreme fragility in the skin’s collagen.
It means even a small bruise can turn into bursitis, where the bruise falls off and leaves an open wound for up to six months.
Carson has never ridden a bike, and he can’t play contact sports because of his condition.
Carson says he is excited to be the champion child and he is ready to take on the important role of the 2022 Saskatchewan ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network Champions Program.
