SUMA members are saying it may be difficult to invest in solar energy infrastructure after SaskPower announced changes to their net metering program. A drop in credits and the cancellation of rebates for installation and equipment costs are some of the alterations the Crown corporation has made to the program. SUMA president Gordon Barnhart says it’s not the same benefits that attracted members to the program in the first place. He says it will be difficult for some municipalities because they are well underway or planning for it. Net metering will be reactivated on November 1st.
