Those taking the bus in Saskatoon will be asked to continue wearing a face mask on their trips. City Council voted 7-3 in favour of keeping the masking policy in place during a Monday afternoon meeting.
Councillors Kirton, Davies and Donauer voted against the motion with none of the councillors voicing their reason for their decision to vote against the motion.
Signage and education measures will remain in place on city buses. This comes as the province’s mandate on masks expired Monday.
Meanwhile, council unanimously passed a motion to install some sort of barrier along Circle Drive between Attridge and College Drives, a place that has seen four fatal collisions since 2016.
The barrier will be added to the City’s list of transportation infrastructure projects to be completed at a later date.
