The Government of Saskatchewan is pledging $335,000 in funding as part of a partnership with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (U-C-C) of Saskatchewan in order to assist families from Ukraine resettle in the province.
The money will be dedicated towards community coordinators who will provide information and assistance to individuals and groups who are wanting to provide help, and to individuals and families from Ukraine who are seeking assistance. The community coordinators will be administered by U-C-C Saskatchewan and will help families connect to resources such as settlement services, language training and employment services to integrate into the province and workforce. As of Tuesday, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the number of refugees fleeing has reached two million.
