More than six thousand Ukrainians have arrived in Canada since January and the Prime Minister was asked yesterday how many Ukrainian people Canada would accept.

While in Berlin, Justin Trudeau said, “We will be open to accepting as many Ukrainians as want to come to Canada.”

And Trudeau explained why the government doesn’t feel a military response to Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine is as good a tool as what they have been employing.  He says Russia chose to overturn 75 years of rules based order of peace.  The sanctions ensure they don’t benefit from the growth and prosperity those 75 years of peace have given the world is one of the best ways to make sure that they lose.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Poland Thursday for meetings with that country’s prime minister and a trip to a temporary shelter for Ukrainian refugees.
