The Brad Gushue rink from Newfoundland and Labrador became the first three man team ever to win the Brier.
Mark Nichols was out for the final weekend due to COVID-19, Gushue and teammates Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker pulled off a 9-8 victory over Alberta’s Kevin Koe on Sunday to win the national men’s curling championship being held in Lethbridge.
That is now four Brier titles in six years for Gushue’s team.
Gushue scored a single point in the extra end for the victory at the Tim Horton’s Brier.
