Deadlines are looming for the removal of ice fishing shacks. For those south of Highway 16 the deadline is March 15 and for those north of Highway 16 the deadline is March 31st.

The province points out that spring weather is unpredictable and it can be easy to overestimate how much time you have to remove the shelter, which if left abandoned, can then become a hazard for boaters, water skiers and others enjoying Saskatchewan lakes.

Shelters need to be removed and taken away along with all litter and debris.
