Battleford RCMP responded to 519 calls between March 16th and yesterday (tues).
On March 19th (sat) a victim provided two men with a ride around 1 a.m. from 100th Street to Trudeau Street and reportedly got out to help one of the individuals which is when the Good Samaritan was pushed to the ground and the two passengers made off with the vehicle. The vehicle was later located and stopped by police after a brief pursuit. Twenty-year-old Tomaz Baptiste was arrested and is facing charges of Flight, Dangerous Driving, Resisting Arrest, Robbery and Driving While Prohibited.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Cochin shortly after 8:30 in the morning on Monday and was located a short distance away. RCMP say they made multiple arrests and seized a machete, a knife and a backpack full of break and enter tools. Jenna Haraburda, 20-years-old, is charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose; 21-year-old Nicholas Osecap is charged with Theft of a Vehicle and 22-year-old Andy Swiftwolfe is charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose as well as Possession of Break-in tools.
Titus Wright, Dawson Moccasin and a 16 year old youth are all facing at least 7 weapons related charges a-piece after RCMP were called out to the suspected discharge of a gun from a vehicle on 12th Avenue in North Battleford. This happened at four in the afternoon on Sunday. Four suspects were arrested at the time and police located and seized two firearms as well as ammunition. Three have been charged and already made their first court appearance and the matter is still under investigation.
Battleford RCMP say a search warrant was executed at a home in the Town of Battleford last Friday after they initially received a complaint of unwanted persons in the residence. Five people were located along with alleged illegal drug activity. Two men, two women and a youth were arrested. According to RCMP among the seized property were four firearms, a significant amount of cash and a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine and Cocaine. Charges have been laid against four of the five and all were in court on Monday. Renelle Bugler, 25-years-old, is facing 19 charges; 37-year-old Christopher Ludviksen is facing 24 charges; 19 charges have been laid against 22-year-old Sebastian Sanderson; and a 16 year old youth was charged and remanded on charges of Possession of Stolen property and Obstruction.
