There was a large police presence around the 300 block of Confederation Drive on Saturday, and now the Saskatoon Police Service is filling us in on what was going on. Shortly after 4 in the afternoon, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit observed a man known to have warrants get into a cab on 33rd Street.

The Police Service reports that officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, but a suspect got out of the vehicle and pointed a firearm in their direction. One member discharged their gun. The suspect fled into the Confederation Mall.

The suspect hasn’t been found and police do not believe there is an immediate threat to public safety. This incident will be reviewed in accordance to police policy.
