Saskatoon Police have arrested a suspect they’ve been looking for over the last five days. Last night (thurs), during the 6 o’clock hour officers attended to a home in the 3200 block of 33rd Street West and found 32-year-old Rolfe Herman exiting the residence. He attempted to flee on foot, although officers were able apprehend him. Police say upon his arrest, the found the suspect suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital for the non-life threatening injury.

On Saturday afternoon, police responded to the Confederation Mall area after they witnessed Herman get into a cab on 33rd Street. He was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Herman then allegedly got out of the taxi and pointed a firearm at police before being shot at by one of the officers. Herman allegedly fled into Confederation Mall.

He then allegedly evaded officers again on Monday night when police attempted a traffic stop on 8th Street. The vehicle then crashed into a post at St. Henry Avenue and Ruth Street with the driver taking off on foot. Police searched the area, although the suspect wasn’t found.

Saskatoon Police has requested the province to appoint an independent investigator to ensure transparency.
