According to Statistics Canada, home schooling is most prevalent on the Prairie Provinces. Across the country, the proportion of home-schooled students is less than one per cent; the national average is 0.6 per cent. But the prairies are all over one percent: 1.8 in Alberta and Manitoba, and 1.3 per cent in Saskatchewan. 7.4 per cent of students across Canada are in private/independent schools. That rises to as high as about 13 per cent in British Columbia. But in Saskatchewan, only 2.5 per cent of students are in that category.
