As of today (mon), Saskatchewan residents most at-risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 will be able to receive their second booster shot or fourth dose, four months after receiving their third jab. This includes anyone over the age of 70, all residents of First Nations communities along with those living in the Northern Service Administrative District who are 50 years and older.
The province says this is in addition to all residents of long-term and personal care homes and those with designated health conditions who have been eligible for fourth doses since February. Those eligible for their fourth dose can now start booking their appointments through the health authority or by contacting participating pharmacies.
All residents 12 and older can now also receive their first booster shot four months after receiving their second jab. The province anticipates that fourth doses will become available to all residents 50 and older by the first week of May.
