Environment Canada is forecasting a major spring blizzard will hit southern Manitoba and southeastern Saskatchewan mid-week with snowfall between 30 and 50 centimetres and north winds gusting to 90 km/h, meaning zero visibility at times in snow and blowing snow. There is a storm watch in Saskatchewan for Carlyle, Oxbow, Estevan, Weyburn, Moosomin, Grenfell and surrounding areas.

A Colorado low is bringing a heavy swath of snow which is expected to begin Tuesday night near the U.S. border and by Wednesday morning, heavy snow is expected and strong winds continuing into Friday morning. Environment Canada expects travel will become increasingly difficult as the day progresses on Wednesday with widespread highway closures a near certainty and by Wednesday night, travel within communities may become impossible, and more of the same is expected on Thursday.
