The City’s internal auditor will lead the investigation into the happenings behind disruptions experienced within Saskatoon Transit this past winter.
This comes after Saskatoon Transit experienced a number of cancellations on routes due to mechanical issues.
The transportation meeting discussed a report Monday to determine who would conduct the review. Sohail Saleem, the City’s internal auditor says a report will come back in June highlighting the criteria and detailed timelines for the audit.
“Everything that would ensure having a smooth operations of the transit (system) would be covered in this audit and the idea would be to ensure that we would have an effective process in place to avoid those disruptions from happening in the future.”
The full investigative report is expected to come out in quarter three so to ensure recommendations are implemented prior to the next winter season.
City staff will continue looking into funding options to replace the aging fleet. A report on that matter is expected to be brought to the committee next month.
The average age of Saskatoon’s fleet is 2011.
