Finding current Duty to Consult legislation inadequate, opposition M-L-A Betty Nippi-Albright (pictured) introduced a private members bill Wednesday that she hopes will bring the province into line with a United Nations declaration.
Kakewistehaw First Nation Chief Evan Taypotat said currently they are having to beg for input into the nearby potash industry and related fields. The legislation introduced by Nippi-Albright would bring Saskatchewan into line with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
