Sixty year old Cecil Wolfe pleaded guilty to 11 charges of sexual assault in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday. The Saskatoon Police Service Sex Crimes Unit laid four of those charges and seven are from the Saskatchewan RCMP.
Last April, it was reported to Saskatoon Police that a woman had been sexually assaulted. Investigators say Cecil Wolfe had been working under the pretext of being a traditional healer or medicine man, so the Police Service publicly asked for other possible victims to come forward. The Saskatchewan RCMP then began investigating outside of the city, believing there may be more victims over the last 20 years in Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, and Saskatoon area. His sentencing begins October 26th.
