The Saskatchewan Health Authority is looking for a builder who will add six youth residential addiction treatment beds in southern Saskatchewan.
The authority has called for proposals.
Although they will be in the southern part of the province the beds will be available to any Saskatchewan youth between 12-and-18 years old suffering from chronic addictions.
Officials say multi-disciplinary teams employ evidence based treatment methods designed for youth in a culturally appropriate and sensitive way.
The Saskatchewan Mental Health and Addictions Action Plan called for the province to expand youth services.
There are currently 39 youth addiction treatment beds in Saskatchewan.
