Saskatoon police say a 50-year-old man is charges of assault and assaulting a peace officer.

This comes after police responded to a disturbance report this afternoon (tues) at a home at Confederation Drive and Confederation Place.

In a news release say it was reported that a man was assaulting a woman around 1:30. Once officers arrived, the man began to resist arrest.

A taser was then used, however it was ineffective and after a struggle, police were able to take him into custody.

The woman suffered minor injuries.
