It’s been done before in the W-H-L, but not by the Saskatoon Blades.
The Bridge City Bunch will try to emulate what the 1996 Spokane Chiefs and the 2013 Kelowna Rockets have done in the post-season when they host Moose Jaw in Game 4 Wednesday night, rally from a 3-0 playoff series deficit to win in seven games. The Blue and Gold came close to accomplishing the feat in 1990, falling behind 3-0 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes before taking the East Division semi-final to a Game 7 and losing 4-3 in the Southern Alberta centre. The 8-6 Blades Game 4 victory that year is the last time Saskatoon staved off elimination while trailing 3-0. Since then, the last eight times the Blue and Gold trailed a series 3-0, they lost Game 4 to complete a sweep. The Warriors grabbed a stranglehold 3-0 advantage Tuesday when Cordel Larson scored at 9:40 of overtime for a 3-2 triumph before over 3,500 fans at SaskTel Centre. Game time is 7 o’clock with the broadcast on CJWW beginning at 6:30.
