The Saskatoon Tribal Council has a campaign called #ActOnReconciliation to harness the momentum of the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which was September 30th, also coinciding with Orange Shirt Day. The idea is to keep Reconciliation top of mind all year long. The campaign calls for action and awareness on the last Friday of each month, and the City is supporting this by highlighting its actions and activities.
One of those activities is a virtual panel discussion coming up May 18th on Creating Safe Spaces for Indigenous Women and Girls and 2 Spirit People. The free event is from noon to two and you can register through Eventbrite. As well, the City is applying an orange filter to their social media accounts and are lighting City Hall, the Prairie Wind installation outside the Remai Modern and SaskTel Centre orange.
