A Meadow Lake paramedic has died after his ambulance was involved in a crash while responding to a call late Friday afternoon near Beauval. A boy and girl – a toddler – were also killed in this crash.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority says it is working to have community and staff supports in place to provide mental health assistance.
Beauval RCMP say the accident happened around 5 p.m. on Highway 155, south of Beauval and also involved a truck.
The northbound ambulance had two people inside while there were five occupants in the southbound truck. One paramedic in the ambulance and the two children in the truck were killed.
RCMP say road conditions were poor, with slush and ice covered sections, at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not considered a factor.
Beauval RCMP were assisted by RCMP officers from Patuanak and Green Lake detachments, Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan, Meadow Lake Traffic Services, local Emergency Medical Services and medical personnel
