Saskatoon Police say a man is facing charges after police received several calls about a man with a firearm on the city’s far westside Sunday night.
Around 8 p.m., officers responded to the area of 22nd Street and Betts Avenue in the city’s Blairmore neighbourhood. Police found the man carrying a firearm in a manner that was threatening to himself.
After an hour, the man continued to disobey commands from officers.
In a news release, police say this led to the deployment of less lethal options and the man was then taken into custody.
A 42-year-old man is facing multiple charges including possession of a dangerous weapon.
Police seized a handgun and bear mace during the arrest.
