Punnichy RCMP say a report of a suspicious vehicle led to the seizure of a kilogram of meth.
The report came in Sunday around noon about a suspicious vehicle on a property on Highway #15 near Raymore. The vehicle was tracked to the town of Quinton but the vehicle didn’t stop when officers with emergency lights activated, tried to pull it over.
A second police cruiser blocked its path bringing the vehicle to a halt and the passenger jumped out taking off on foot.
A suspect was arrested a couple hours later at a Raymore business thanks to a tip from the public. Police say the male passenger dropped a bag while running from police which was a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine. RCMP also say a backpack was left at the property where the vehicle was initially spotted so officers also seized illegal cigarettes, knives, batons, approximately 96 OxyContin pills and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
