Human remains were found on Saturday northeast of Regina and, although the identity has not been confirmed, two people have been charged in the case of a missing woman. Regina Police say 22 year old Jenaya Wapemoose was last seen March 27th in Regina. But her family never reported her missing until May 7th. Police began an investigation and, during the course of that, officers believed that Wapemoose had come to harm. The case became a homicide investigation. The woman’s family has been advised of the discovery of the body and of the arrests. The coroner’s Service is working with the Regina Forensic Identification Unit in confirming the identity. 23 year old Eric Lee Alvin Kakakaway is charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Offering an Indignity to a Human Body. 30 year old Jeannette Mavis Kakakaway is charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder. Both appeared in Provincial Court in Regina this morning (mon).
