On Saturday evening, the Regina Police Service responded to a report of a gun being fired at a group of people on 6th Avenue and Athol Street.
Police searched the area and found three young people who were detained after one of them matched the suspect’s description.
Police allege a 14 year old had a sawed off rifle tucked into their waistband while a 17-year-old, police say, had a machete. The third person was released with no charge.
The 14-year-old was charged with various weapon offences while the 17-year-old was also charged with possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police were also able to locate the group which was shot at and charges were laid among some of those individuals as well for breaching release conditions, having possession of a bullet, and outstanding warrants.
In total four youths and one adult face charges.
In a separate incident on Sunday Regina Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Princess Street after a caller reported they’d heard what sound like gunshots nearby.
This was just after one in the afternoon. Police located a teenage boy wanted on outstanding warrants and say the 15 year old was in possession of a sawed off firearm. Officers also found what appeared to be bullet holes in a garage.
The teen faces eight charges most of them weapons related.
