The Western Premier’s Conference kicks off in Regina today with Premier Scott Moe chairing the meeting.
Earlier this week the Minister responsible for seniors, Everett Hindley, had indicated federal health transfers were among the topics that would be discussed.
The western premiers purportedly want $28 billion dollars in new additional money, annually, through the Canada Health Transfer from the federal government for health care.
The meeting of provincial and territorial leaders from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut was virtual in 2021.
