The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a massive fire at a condo building in Sutherland early this morning (sat).

A news release issued by the fire department at 12:45 said multiple occupants required rescuing from their units by fire personnel.

The mobile emergency command unit was set up and used as a command post.

The blaze happened at the building located at 108th Street and Bryans Avenue which has a wood frame structure.

Fire crews said the roof was fully involved in fire.

There is no word on a cause or damage estimate. Further details will be provided once they become available.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the blaze.

An update from the fire department says some residents require rehousing and those at the Salvation Army are helping those in need.

Six engines, two ladder trucks and one rescue unit responded to the scene.
