In the month since the Saskatchewan RCMP have been doing weekly reports for media, this past week’s calls for service was the highest with 7,053. The highest volume of calls was Saturday, with 1,197 in total.
In the past week, RCMP officers responded to 118 impaired-driving related offences, with 9 roadside suspensions, and 24 dangerous driving incidents. Not including the automated speed enforcement fines issued, there were 1,490 tickets handed out.
The report also includes news of a swearing in ceremony. Last Thursday, Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore was officially sworn in as the 35th Commanding Officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP. The former Assistant Commissioner, Mark Fisher, retired from the RCMP in 2020 and Blackmore has been in the role since May of last year. The ceremony was held at the RCMP Academy in Regina.
