The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested and charged a 41 year old man in connection to the homicide investigation of Megan Gallagher, who was 30 when she was last seen in the city in September of 2020.
In January of 2021, the Police Service announced it was treating her disappearance as a homicide. The 41 year old is being charged with indignity to human remains and he is expected to appear in Provincial Court tomorrow (Thurs) morning.
Police are also looking for three others in connection to this investigation, and have issued arrest warrants for 44 year old John Wayne Sanderson of the James Smith First Nation, 44 year old Roderick William Sutherland, and 42 year old Jessica Sutherland. They too are charged with indignity to human remains.
On September 21st of 2020 around 3:30 in the morning, a woman who wasn’t Megan used her cell phone to call for a cab. This is a day after Megan was last seen alive on video surveillance at a convenience store in the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive. Police report that a man’s voice could also be heard on the call. Investigators confirmed where they were dropped off, but Megan’s phone wasn’t found. In May of last year, police released audio of that call to see if anyone recognized the voices.
