Premier Scott Moe is heading to the United States to sell Saskatchewan.
A government news release says he’ll be in New York to emphasize Saskatchewan’s advancements in sustainable development of natural resources and ability to meet challenges related to energy security. The Premier will tout such initiatives as carbon capture and enhanced oil recovery, small modular reactors and nuclear energy, and developing our critical minerals and rare earth elements.
Moe says he will showcase how Saskatchewan can be a stable and reliable source of energy products for North America.
The government points to a Conference Board of Canada recent report which projected the province to lead GDP growth in Canada this year and anticipates Saskatchewan’s GDP volumes to grow 7.9 per cent.
Meetings with legislators in Washington, D.C. are also planned in an effort to promote Saskatchewan as a well-positioned to be supplier of critical minerals and energy needs.
The Premier’s delegation will depart for New York City on June 5th.
