Another suspect has been arrested in the Megan Gallagher homicide investigation.
Saskatoon Police say 42-year-old Jessica Sutherland was taken into custody by Onion Lake RCMP after receiving a tip from the public. Sutherland, like the other suspects in this case, is charged with Indignity to Human Remains. She is in Saskatoon court Monday morning.
Saskatoon Police are still on the hunt for John Wayne Sanderson, 44-years-old, of the James Smith First Nation.
Already arrested in this case in recent weeks are 41-year-old Ernest Whitehead and 44-year-old Roderick William Sutherland.
Megan Gallagher was 30-years old-when she was reported missing in September of 2020.
On September 21st of 2020 around 3:30 in the morning, a woman who wasn’t Megan used her cell phone to call for a cab. This is a day after Megan was last seen alive on video surveillance at a convenience store in the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive. Police report that a man’s voice could also be heard on the call. Investigators confirmed where they were dropped off, but Megan’s phone wasn’t found.
In May of last year, police released audio of that call to see if anyone recognized the voices. Saskatoon Police Service has been treating her disappearance as a homicide investigation since January of 2021.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sanderson, or about the case, is asked to call the police or leave a tip anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
