Nutrien has announced accelerating the ramp-up of its annual potash production capability to 18-million tonnes by 2025, and this means hiring more people. A news release from the Saskatoon-based company says the decision is in response to the uncertainty of supply from Eastern Europe. It’s an increase of more than 5-million tonnes, or 40 per cent, compared to the production in 2020.
To boost production, the company will be hiring and training about 350 people. Interim President and CEO, Ken Seitz, says, “The challenge of feeding a growing world has never been clearer as global supply constraints have contributed to higher commodity prices and escalated concerns for global food security.”
