A 42 year old man is facing charges related to impaired driving causing death and refusing to comply with a demand when involved in an accident causing death. Saskatoon Police say around 10:15 on Wednesday night officers responded to the intersection of McKinnon Avenue South and Main Street and found two heavily damaged vehicles, a Mercedes and an Infiniti.

The passenger of the Infiniti, a 61 year old woman from Saskatoon was transported to hospital by ambulance where she succumbed to her injuries. Investigators say the westbound Infiniti was struck on the passenger side by the southbound Mercedes. The driver of the Infiniti sustained non life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the Mercedes was impaired and was arrested on scene. He appears in court on July 11th.
