Pet Food Week in Saskatchewan is wrapping up tomorrow (Sat) with a pet food blitz. The Saskatchewan SPCA is closing out the week with a blitz for its Pet Food Bank from 10 to 4 at Michael’s Your Independent Grocer on Wanuskewin Road. Since the provincial SPCA’s program launched in 2020, the Pet Food Bank has distributed enough pet food across the province to fill more than 37,000 bowls. Spokesperson Josh Hourie says it’s to relieve some pressures for families experiencing food insecurity, so they won’t have to surrender their pets because they can’t afford to feed them anymore.
