An attempted murder charge has been laid against a 39 year old man after an incident Monday night at Royal University Hospital.

Police were called to the 100 block of Hospital Drive at 8:15 p.m. Monday in response to a report of an assault in a public area inside the hospital.

Police Say a 55 year old man had been stabbed, remains at the hospital and is in critical condition.

Security staff at the hospital took a suspect into custody who was then turned over to Saskatoon Police Service officers.

The 39 year old suspect has been charged with Attempted Murder and remains in custody.
