It was supposed to be live and in person for the first time in three years however the Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliation has been cancelled.
Reconciliation Saskatoon’s Carrie Catherine says the walk is held on National Indigenous People’s Day and is a celebration of diversity in Saskatoon. Participants are invited to wear cultural regalia or wearing orange as the walk has always been about acknowledging and recognizing residential school survivors.
However with more thunderstorms and rain in Saskatoon’s forecast today, for the sake of safety, in the wake of flooding on Monday, the event has been cancelled.
