The focus this weekend in the search for 5 year old Frank Young is on Carrot River and its banks.

Members of the RCMP tactical unit and volunteers from Red Earth and Shoal Lake Cree Nations are taking part in the search. This effort by the RCMP is part of the process of winding down the active search although the Missing Person file will remain open until he is found.  Earlier this week RCMP announced they were suspending aerial and boat searches.

Frank Young was last seen April 19th by his home on the Red Earth Cree Nation and possibly a few hours later at a playground.

The RCMP asks anyone who has information, or finds any items of interest like clothing that seems out of place to contact Carrot River RCMP immediately.

The area being searched this weekend will concentrate, in particular, at a junction of the river about five kilometres downstream from Red Earth known to locals as the “Y.”
