The Colorado Avalanche dethroned the two time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning and took home the Stanley Cup Sunday night. It’s been 21 years since the Colorado Avalanche could hoist the Stanley Cup. NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly handed the cup to Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog who took a turn around the rink before handing it off to Eric Johnson, the longest serving team member of the Colorado Avalanche. Cale Makar was named the 2022 Conn Smythe Trophy winner. Colorado downed Tampa Bay 2-1 Sunday taking the Stanley Cup Final four games to two.
