Alberta RCMP say a 30 year old woman has died after being trampled at the Ponoka Stampede Grounds.

Media reports indicate she was a volunteer who worked as a wrangler.

It happened on Sunday shortly after 7 in the evening after the woman was thrown off her horse and then trampled by other horses.

She succumbed to her injuries and her death is now being investigated by Occupational Health and Safety.
