Ivor Antoine Wapass, aged 44 years, has been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder and is in court Monday in North Battleford, in connection to the suspicious death investigation on the Thunderchild First Nation. Turtleford RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive male at a home on the First Nation and found 57 year old Roger Standingwater in medical distress. EMS personnel pronounced Mr. Standingwater deceased at the scene.

An autopsy was conducted on September 18th to determine cause of death, which RCMP have not disclosed.

The Turtleford RCMP were assisted by RCMP Major Crimes Unit North, North Battleford General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification section.
