Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) and Saskatoon Public Schools have announced the launch of a partnership between the conservation organization, Colette Bourgonje School and the Saskatoon Wildlife Federation.
The Saskatoon Wetland Centre of Excellence will deliver hands-on experimental wetland education programming. Ducks Unlimited Canada Wetland Centres of Excellence form a national network of schools and community partners where students lead wetland projects, peer-to-peer mentorship and community outreach.
Saskatoon’s Hyde Park will serve as an outdoor classroom for students of Colette Bourgonje School. The park has 123 acres of naturalized wetlands. It’s home to dozens of species of native plants and animals. The wetland provides flood protection and recreational opportunities.
