As the week of Crown Corporation annual reports continue to roll out, SaskTel is reporting net income of $104.4-million for the last fiscal year and operating revenues of $1.3-billion. Most of SaskTel’s revenue, at 47.2 per cent, comes from wireless network services and equipment, followed by fixed broadband and data at 21.8 per cent, wireline communications at 13.6 per cent and maxTV service at 7.7 per cent.
The Crown Corporation handed over $94-million in dividends to the Crown Investments Corporation and the report also states that during the last five fiscal years, SaskTel has paid over $543-million in dividends.
The report states that revenue was down by $16.8 million due to ongoing declines in legacy wireline services and decreased year-over-year demand for customer premise equipment, which was partially offset by growth in fixed broadband and data revenues from a growing subscriber base and increased revenue per customer as customers opt for higher internet speeds and more services through SaskTel’s fibre optic network. The decline was also offset by increased wireless revenues.
