Metis Nation-Saskatchewan is supporting early learning with a $3.5-million investment. The Early Learning and Child Care Community Enhancement Program will provide grants of up to $50,00 to Metis Locals to enhance or develop early learning programs and services. Metis language programs, Elder programs to learn from the Elders, and land-based learning for children up to eight years old are eligible. MN-S President Glen McCallum says the goal is to enrich children with Metis culture, values and language, which in turn gifts them with pride in their Metis identity. Click here for more information.
