Rogers Communications announced this morning (sat) that services have been restored to the vast majority of its customers following an outage on Friday that cut off internet and cell service to customers.
In a tweet this morning (sat), the company said “As our services come back online and traffic volumes return to normal, some customers may experience a delay in regaining full service.”

The company’s president and CEO issued an apology saying Rogers will make changes to “meet and exceed” expectations in the future.
The outage also affected debit transactions and ATMs across the country. Problems with the ArriveCAN app and passport offices were also reported.
Canadian artist, The Weeknd postponed his show in Toronto last night (fri) due to the Rogers outage. Fans were alerted about the change half an hour prior to the show at the Rogers Centre.
Prior to the Saskatchewan Roughriders home game against the Ottawa Redblacks Friday night at Mosaic Stadium, the Regina Exhibition Association issued a notice telling fans that credit and cash transactions were only going to be accepted at the game.
Early Saturday morning, some businesses in Saskatoon were still only accepting credit or cash.
